Riku Cunanan, one of our avid youth trainees here at Pretty Huge Obstacles, kick-started his fitness journey in August 2019. He shares that his main reason for joining the program was to get fit and healthy, and whilst doing that, he also wanted to have fun.
For his obstacle course racing endeavors, Riku squeezes in training at PHO 4 to 5 times a week. Every time he comes in, he makes sure that he pushes his physical limits whenever he can. The obstacle courses that challenge him the most are the Devil Steps, 8-foot Wall, and Warped Wall.
Riku’s advice for kids who are currently taking strides toward OCR is to always be careful while training and to never forget that part of the experience is to enjoy the course despite the difficulties.
